The gem

When going abroad I rather like having my own home than staying in an impersonal hotel. First of all you get a little insight into foreign cultures even if it’s a very individual option how to live and arrange your home; secondly it feels much more like living in the country of your choice.

It was already the second time that I stayed at this lovely place close to Pyynikki. I don’t know if this was the reason for it or maybe the combination with the amazing interior design that made me feel like home at the very first moment. Alma’s apartment is the perfect place to have a great cup of tea, play piano in the afternoon, have a dance in the spacious light-flooded room or just listen to music or take a nap in the comfy bed. There are plenty of lovely notes placed in the apartment that remind you that life is beautiful and make the place so charming as it is.
I really enjoyed my stay and so love to think back to this wonderful time.

Tampere facades

On Wednesday I returned home from my holidays in Tampere, Finland. I have already been there many times in the past years. When I picked up my camera for one of my first walks there I knew I wanted to take pictures of a subject I haven’t take pictures of in Tampere. As someone who is in love with architecture I decided to photograph the interesting facades which have awakened my interest. The faces of buildings somehow represent the alteration in the city. So many houses were under construction, some got demolished and yet others were just simply beautiful in their current state. All those buildings are worth seeing and among them there are a few popular ones – just take a close look and I am curious if you spot them.
In the next weeks I will post some other series of my Finland trip.

Sunset Star

Lately I visited Cooph (the Cooperative of Photography) and spent some time in Fuschl am See. My hotel was directly located at the lake. It was the first time that I could watch the sunrise and sunset straight from the bed of the hotel room. What a view! I could definitely get used to it.

A lovely place to stay

If you are interested in culture Salzburg is the perfect place to be. The old town with its world famous baroque architecture is best-preserved and great to discover. The weather was perfect for climbing up to the Hohensalzburg fortress which looms over the city. From above you get a great view over the whole city. As Salzburg is also the birthplace of Mozart I had to try the original Mozartkugeln for the first time and they turned out to be my favourite chocolate!
Now finally as promised I will show you another set of images from Salzburg.

Salzburg

Last week’s schedule was filled with a busy travelling plan. Luckily there was still some spare time in one of the cities I visited and I was able to do what I love most: taking pictures. It was a lovely Sunday in Salzburg, spring has arrived and the city was blooming. I loved being there, capturing the beauty of this amazing city in my own way. I returned home with many pictures on my memory card and in the next few days I would like to show you my favourite impressions.

Vienna calling

Exploring new places is one of my favourite things to do. I am happy when I am able to walk around with no destination in mind and take pictures of things which randomly catch my interest.
I have been in Vienna a few times, but it still feels like a new place to me. There are so many things to discover and therefore a weekend is definitely too short to spot the whole beauty.
This time I visited the Museum of Applied Arts (called MAK) amongst other places. Stefan Sagmeister’s “The Happy Show” is a very interesting and inspiring exhibition, which I can highly recommend and can be seen until 28.03.2016.
